Review # 1 was written on 2012-03-24 00:00:00 S. Meston After seeing "Good Night and Good Luck," I became curious about Don Hollenbeck, one of the characters depicted in the film. I wanted to find out more about him. It turns out that he was a news pioneer along the same lines as Edward R. Murrow. His life was so much more than it's tragic end. A good read about one of the greats of early radio and television news reporting. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-08-06 00:00:00 Zahid Farhoudi Very interesting and informative, however, the title is misleading. Generally, the book is about the news business during Hollenbeck's tenure. I would say less than 25% of the book is about Hollenbeck himself. We learn very little about his personal life or his thoughts. Nevertheless, the book is definately worth reading. |
