Good overall. Good engagement with Philosophical Fragments and CUP to explore SK's Socratic technique. Would have liked a little more evidence from other sources. i.e. a wide ranging examination of instances of elenchus, aporia etc in SK's output. Fragments/Crumbs wasn't the clearest text for me and Daise relies heavily on it. Some of his discussion was good as it helped me contextualise Fragments. The last chapter 'Ethics of Persuasion' was nice but bit a brief. If the rest of the book was as clear it would have helped, but that's my problem not the book's, I think. Short and thought provoking, the book also readjusted my conception of SK's famous 'truth is subjectivity' line. Daise convinced me that this is not SK saying opinions are different for all. Rather he is saying subjectivity is the achieving of self, the successful realisation of it as 'project': something akin to our idea of self actualisation. For him, only Christianity is the best candidate for achieving this truth, or Truth. This neatly slots into his categorisation as existentialist, I guess, as to encounter such truth and to will/decide to cleave to it, counts as ontological, as well as metaphysical and epistemological commitment. (A three in one from a Christian three in one?) This reading of SK's 'subjectivity is truth' as potential and process, not a stance towards propositional truth (as Daise puts it) was new to me, and I am happy to have discovered it.

I bought this book because I was curious about what Alliez had to say about "Deleuze's Virtual Philosophy" and was not disappointed!
