While Rashkin makes many interesting, thought-provoking claims involving the use of psychoanalysis to unearth buried political narratives in film and literature using elaborate and well-constructed arguments, the book is hard to respect in an academic sense because it subscribes to a set of theories marred by pseudoscience and non-falsifiable hypotheses.

Also sounds very interesting. I've always felt that a world of possibilities exists at every moment, and would want to write that way.
