Review # 1 was written on 2020-11-29 00:00:00 Robert Cyr A very interesting account of international law's imperfections. Sobering account of the difference between what its contenders say it can do and what it does in practice. It would have been useful, however, for Posner to have written more on when it is effective (as he himself acknowledges that it is suitable for resolving certain disputes). |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-11-21 00:00:00 Mark Merrigan It's a great book if you're looking for an introduction to the sources and nature of public international law.dixon provides an overview of certain concepts supported by cases and examples to help clarify the grey areas in international law.like the law of treaties, law of the sea and the peaceful settlement of disputes etc.and most importantly : it is not as boring as the other books I've read on the subject of international law. |
