Review # 1 was written on 2016-09-13 00:00:00 Dan Peters Really had a hard time with this installment. While the first one was breezy, if probably somewhat suspect, history, this was a really biting commentary on everything he disliked in his own lifetime. He made it very, VERY clear that he was not a fan of the monarchy, and very staunchly Labour Party. Which is fine, but it made me wonder what he DOES like about his country. Everyone from the looks of some random newscaster to the smallest and most insignificant politician got a rude comment. Much of the history was world history, which would be fine if he had mentioned how it affected Britain, but he didn't. I think he just had some funny "bits" about Elvis and Japan that he needed to used up somewhere, so he threw them in there along with his commentary about British automobile manufacturing and Maggie Thatcher. A lot of the political stuff went right over my head, because he went for "humor" rather than an actual explanation of its impact. A lot of the world history tidbits left me puzzled, because I was trying to figure out what the connection to Britain was, when there usually wasn't one. Really, it was quite an odd book, and so different from the first!

Review # 2 was written on 2014-12-20 00:00:00 Vanellis Dimitrios Not as good as the first part, but still have some interesting items. It's funny source for recalling events in the years after WW II.
