If the american people want to know the real reasson that education is failing our children they need to read this book. The Rockerfellers, who are also charter members of the World Banking cartel and the Federal Reserve System, supported the developmentg of industrial education in order to creat a functionally literate individual...not one who would seek their own fortune through creativity and entrepreneurial risk, but a tool of production that would keep running on the treadmill, chasing the carrot. If you watch the MATRIX. read this book and Dr. Carter J. Woodson's book, "The Mis-education of the Negro, and Paolo Frierie's book, "The Pedagogy of the Oppressed, you will see exactly how our education, which is supposed to liberate us, has actually ensslaved us.

This book is a one-sided, New Left history of industrial education and the career of Booker T. Washington. Quite outdated (it was published in 1978), it is more useful as a historiographical stereotype than as a serious treatment of these controversial topics. Its virtue is its clarity and concision.
