Review # 1 was written on 2011-10-29 00:00:00 Jay Ritchey P J O'Rourke is a very popular political writer with dozens of books to his credit.Obviously he is making lots of dough and have tens if not hundreds of thousand fans. Of course 'em fans are, like him, white middle class and the nobles who occupy the top of the US 's human heap. All of 'em are clever, ruthless and amoral nobles or semi-nobles who have successfully squirmed , elbowed, knifed their way up from the bottom of said heap, survived and victorious in the vicious struggle of the survival of the fittest. Finally, after he is on the top, he now has the pleasure and luxury of bragging about the philosophy he was armed with TO HELP HIM won this merciless kill or to be killed. Now he has the authority voice of the victor to snicker and sneer at all losers and all defeated . Now he has the luxury to lecture to all loosers and defeated that their sorry fates are of their own makings.It has nothing to do with the ruthless , heartless and bottomless greed of 'em capitalists and colonialists . In this book, he insists that all of social ills and disasters : Famines, pandemic, war's deads and destructions , hunger, malnutrition and wide spread poverty of the world have nothing to do with the US government's foreign " policies" WHILE IN FACT the truth is just the reversal : US government's neo-colonialism has been the cause for most of said problems happened in its 2oth century neo-colonies. Alas, most of white readers failed to see this well hidden truth IT is political incorrect to say the great majority of all people in the the U S if not the whole world are stupid, apathetic,brainwashed zombies or sleepwalkers. Proof ? No need to look further than the fact the pea size brain cowboy G.W.Bush Jr. was elected not just one time, but also the second time as the Prez of the Evil Empire.Under the Emperor Bush ruling , everywhere you went , you hear blatant lies, self-serving rhetoric, arrogant accusations and threats, and nonsensical blabbing .They were accepted as Gospel by all the zombies mentioned above Few people challenged his stupidity and arrogance.Few people dared to tell to his face that he was the most fearsome and loathsome terrorist of them all , the country that hoarded the most quantity of dangerous and lethal WMD was the Great Satan itself and the "Democracy" he tried to shove into the throats of people in the Middle East was the most dirty tricks of the nobles and high priests in the U S to secure their grips on the most juicy posts in all three branches of the Royal Gang of Thugs masquerading as Legislative, Executive and Judiciary. Talking about stupidity, not only the zombies in England but also most of their brothers and sisters in a large part of the world ( especially the former slaves of the Great Britain ) are deliriously happy whenever they see or hear any bit of image or information regarding the Old Hag and her brood.They jump up and down as though they see their most beloved dead aunt resurrected. Little do they care the Old Hag and her brood are the very antithesis of the Democratic principle that they and their forefathers had murdered millions of people worldwide , had caused rivers of blood to build their vast empire.It is the most serious insult to the modern social equality principle:People worth is based on their efforts in their lives and not depended solely on their bloodlines alone. And here is the land where its people are blabbing about Democracy, Equality, Human Right ....etc...yet there is this fat Old Hag Elisabeth the queen and her well nourished litters keeping a very tight grip on EXTREME POWER, GIGANTIC WEALTH,TOP NOTCH PRIVILEGE for centuries if not decades (actually forever ) , to hell with personal merits ! Well fed, well nourished and well protected, they are still not content with just sucking their subjects' blood in silence.Overwhelmed with supreme joy, they found the need to open their mouths to vent off their precious royal pearls, but to their ( and their subjects ) horror, they were mostly stupid, self-serving, insulting and offensive hogwash ( especially from the snouts of the young Princes ) Surprise ! Most of the zombies and brainless coat hangers are overjoyed with every bit of that hogwash.They become delirious happy with just a tiny bit of any info regarding the Old Hag and her litters ,even any of their body biological functioning ( births and marriages included) for which the mass media are too happy to supply. Regardless of their Godlike halos they created for themselves, their lives is far from perfect.The mysterious, all powerful and just forces ( please read my book review on HEART OF A SOLDIER by James B Stewart ) did not spare the Royal Gang of Thieves from a lot of intrigues, broken marriages, vehicular accident and or murder ( However, she denied steadfastly her role in the dead of her estranged daughter in law, who had made a deadly mistake of smearing muck in her fat face}.Yah, sure ! It is depressing enough with this reality.It is unbearable sad to see a seemingly intelligent author like O'ROURKE who turns out to be just one of the dumb sheep. Obviously O'ROURKE must have been a big fan of Emperor Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon regarding their fight against the Viet-Namese communists.(Actually they were first and foremost nationalists, communism was just a mean to achieve their ultimate goal of getting rid from their beloved fatherland of the foreign barbarians ) Being a fan of those criminals, he must have been very sore from the disastrous and humiliating defeat of his idols in that war.Being loyal to his masters, he used the last chapter in ALL THE TROUBLE IN THE WORLD to ridicule his adversary, trying comically to reverse the outcome of the Viet-Nam war. Like a child with big tantrum after being punished for an infraction, he cried his head off, blabbering a bunch of nonsense, inventing imaginary virtues of himself, distorting known facts with straight face, criticizing imaginary faults of his parents ( the communists) and generally making a nuisance and a clown of himself. It will be insulting to the readers' intelligence and sensibility if I will elaborate all the details of his arrogance,stupidity, lies ,wild accusations, insulting assessments and negative opinions about the former adversaries who were only "little monkeys" ( to borrow the term Admiral Denton used to indicate the Viet-Namese communist guerrillas in his memoir WHEN HELL WAS IN SESSION) but who were able to outwit and managed to kick ass of the most powerful army in the world. Instead, I would like only to mention briefly here his tantrum, lies, crudest , cheapest jokes,dumbest uttering ....Please forgive me if they are so offensive to you. **He compared the natural wonder of Ha Long bay with his private part.(Page 316) ** He sneered at the glorious victory of the Viet-Namese nationalists upon the Invading Foreign Barbarians ( Actually he did not sneer, he wrote ...." ....they ( the Viet-Namese) think they won the war..." (Page 309). Whoa , he had actually trying to alter history !!!! Terrifically stupid ! ** He called the most heroic warrior, the world 's most revered Viet-Namese nationalist who defeated both the French colonialist and American neocolonialists who thought to kick the "little monkeys' " asses was just a piece of cake ---- " the dead old guy ". This is the same as calling all the AMERICAN FOUNDING FATHERS with the same term. ** He was so immature, he could not accept the humiliating defeat of over five hundred thousand well-armed, well fed and well supplied ( even with ice cream being air dropped down to them ) sent over to Viet Nam by the US Administrations.He childishly wrote about the face loosing withdrawal of the US armed forces as ....."...just going out for a beer...We're back...." (Page 310) ** There were few things he liked.One of them was the loveliness of the local womanhood.Fine, I found it was nice of him to praise it, even he was rather overly kind. Beside the local delicacies,he praised the beautiful land in general. But I found myself utterly surprise , angry and exasperate when he postulated that the reason the invading barbarians came to my country was because they ...." ...fell in love..." (Page 324) Wow, I could not believe my eyes ! I read, and reread.Clearly it was what he had written..Really, the barbarian loved Viet Nam so much they brought millions of tons of bombs, tanks, airplane bombers,hundreds of thousands of well armed , blood and greenbacks thirsty mercenaries and defoliate toxic chemical to win its people hearts ! (By the way, they did not just bring them there, they used them ( actually they tested them , using the Viet Namese people , villages,towns, rice fields, forests ,bridges, highways and military installations, ....as the subjects of their horrible experiments , to test the effectiveness and the degree of destruction of their newly invented weaponry) Talking about extreme stupidity ! It was rather pathetic to see his displaying openly, unashamedly his soreness about the victorious struggle of the resilient , heroic Viet-Namese nationalists against much more powerful foreign barbarian aggressors AFTER MORE THAN A DECADE from the fateful day when the American colonialists ran for their lives to their lairs to lick their wounded prides. Instead of accepting the defeat gracefully and burying his hatchet as many peace and justice loving Americans did , he was throwing his childish tantrum and making him a laughing stock(at least ) for all the Viet Namese people from both sides ( if not for ) all the people in the world who know about its glorious history. According to Psychology 101, he is still in the stage of DENIAL, after more than a decade from the lost ( if nothing else,of his national pride) from the infamous Viet Nam fiasco , while almost all of his contemporaries are now have long been in the stage of ACCEPTANCE AND HEALING . What a pity ! PEOPLE OF THIRD WORD COUNTRIES : Why are you labeling yourself FREEDOM FIGHTERS ? If you want to overthrow the dictator who are sitting on your face, DO IT YOURSELF , just like any self respecting MAN doing in similar situation.Why are you welcoming the INVADING FOREIGN BARBARIANs as your saviors ? Are you men? ? Do you have balls ? IF YOU HAVE BALLS, NEVER ASK ANY MAN ( especially and specifically a foreigner ) to "HELP" YOU WITH your DUTY OF getting rid from your face the fat ass of the dictator or whoever he may be, whether he is a communist,a fascist , a clown or a capitalist ..etc.... DO YOU KNOW THE REASON ? THE WHY ? Here, take it into the mass of jelly that you call your brains : BECAUSE ONLY WIMPS ASK FOR HELP ! Got it ? Even women will not ask for foreigner's help when they responded to their fatherland's calling.( Viet Namese Trung sisters and Ba Trieu were two examples) Just look at KAZAI and his gang of "FREEDOM FIGHTERS " of Afghanistan now .Does he looks like a man TO YOU ? Does he have balls ? ( Regardless of the pomposity of his crown and the ceremonial long outfit he wears and the title PRESIDENT the foreigners granted to him, he look just like a scarecrow , scare no one but birds )Right now he is very, very angry because the American have no respect to his authority and his country "sovereignty" .Why should the servant ( and a traitor) expect any respect from his evil master ? Why am I going on and on with this seemingly tangential subjects ? Here is the reason : No foreigner will love and "help" you.Period.P J O'ROURKE is no exception ( who care about "IS NOT EXCEPTION " being grammatical correct ?) Just look at his red face while he talked incessantly about how the American ( Himself and a handful of others) had "won" the Viet Nam contest ( had it not spilled so much blood). Just look at his angry , shameless demeanor while he compared the natural wonders of Ha Long bay with his private part, when he was visiting the land that his buddies had " conquered" more than a decade before .Just look at his insulting, arrogant expression when he encountered anything on his journey in Viet Nam.There is so many of his arrogant, self-serving, self-grandiose statements that I can not elaborate because of the fear of repeating myself. PEOPLE OF THE THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES : Do NOT seek the "help" from any foreigner, O'ROURKE included, IF YOU HAVE BALLS. Understand ? Looking at the book's cover, I have this to say : What deceiving , what humorous , WHAT SELF-GRANDIOSE the image on the book 's cover !What with the GREAT PLANET EARTH in THE AUTHOR'S embrace. I suggest to replace it with a pot and a pan .Oop ...nope, a rag doll WOULD BE MORE APT, and for his nose, a big tomato. DISCLAIMER; I strongly believe in the goodness off all people, regardless of their skin colors and nationalities.In the above text, when I proposed "all the people ..." of course it is my way to emphasize the ideas contains in the statement. When I accused a certain nationality of being evil, please understand I mean THE GOVERNMENT of that nation.It is NOT the same as its people.In fact almost all governments are inherently evil, being pushed to power by their dirty tricks ( just look at the compaign "contributions" we can see clearly it is a legal bribery )Therefore they represents nobody but themselves and their buddies. When I used the term "mercenaries" , FOREIGN BARBARIANS, I am well aware the majority of them joint or being conscripted INTO IT BECAUSE THEY ARE SO POOR , IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO ESCAPE the fate of the common serfs. How many of the nobles' offspring you can find among them ? They are mostly reluctant killers.That is the reason for the bitter failure of many of their "missions" (Please read my review of James B Stewart 's HEART OF A SOLDIER.) Please bear in mind the essence of this DISCLAIMER when you read any of my reviews. More later..........

Review # 2 was written on 2008-01-31 00:00:00 Robin Brown His subtitles to the chapters are excellent. Overpopulation: Just enough of me, way too much of you. He helps you realize it's not population density that's a problem, it's lack of freedom and rule of law. And people who claim to worry about overpopulation are really just disguising their racism (Too many brown people). Famine: All guns, no butter. Somalia is the case study for how you can actually have a lot of food around and people will still starve due to political repression. It was so absurd it was sad. One of his colleagues said,"Men in skirts killing each other about matters of clan. People call it barbaric savagery, add bag pipes and a golf course, and they call it Scotland." Environment: The outdoors and how they got there. "Until very recently ordinary people spent most of their time outdoors--farming, hunting, gathering nuts and berries, pillaging the countryside in armed bands. The more contact people actually have with nature, the less likely they are to "appreciate" it in a big mushy, ecumenical way. And the more likely they are to get chiggers." His description of the chiggers he got while visiting the rain forest is awesome. And so on. He super funny. Or I could just be hormonal. I wish I could write like him. He stares right in the face of all sorts of hideous disasters and after pointing out the absurd human errors that caused them, he gives you some hope of how a solution could come.
