A much more scholarly book than my usual fare, this gave me a lot to think about. Whiteness as habit explains why white supremacy culture is so invisible to white people and why it is so hard to eradicate. The author explains it all in depth and gives some strategies for combating it by replacing the harmful habits of whiteness with others. Very good book but I need to give my brain a break after reading it.

Since I'll be doing research in this area of Kenya, this book was particularly relevant to me, and as such I enjoyed it. However, for the uninvolved, it might also be a fairly interesting read, especially if you have an interest in sociology as a science, the methodology and ethics of people studying people, and the transition from hunter/gatherer to more pastoral lifestyles. It's interesting and quick.
