Review # 1 was written on 2010-01-28 00:00:00 Laureen Perry-nettles An interesting book that attempts to philosophically change some current thinking in the field of psychology from a purely scientific endeavor to more of a moral and case study approach (the quantitative vs. qualitative debate). There are a number of good ideas presented and I have several tidbits of wisdom underlined in the book. This is more of a deep read so when you are ready for a serious encounter with applying morality to psychology this may be your book. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-02-25 00:00:00 Norlynn Price I would give this book a "five" because I liked it so much. But I usually reserve that for classics. The first part is a great expose of just what scientific rationalism has done to us, and to psychology, in particular. Thank you so much! The second half speaks more to critics and offers approaches. I needed the philosophy more. His clinical recommendations at the end impress me, however. Like I said, I am grateful someone wrote this. |
