Review # 1 was written on 2017-05-10 00:00:00 Serg Hernan Wow! This was the text book for my undergraduate Lit Crit class and it was an absolute delight! One of the foundational pieces for me was Horace. Another one of the highlights was its introduction for me of Northrop Frye. Take your time reading this, it will prove timelessly valuable. Of course, as with all Literature one must read discerningly, in a Biblical sense examine it all and keep (or hold fast) to what is good. This is my disclaimer for those here-and-there chapters which prove so obviously to be "not good." |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-03-11 00:00:00 Curt Synness A good collection of some of the basic texts of literary theory and criticism. If you're looking for a starting point of the classics of the discipline, or if you've just got the burning desire to read defenses and condemnations of creative writing, this may be for you. |
