I would have preferred the book to be organized by the writers and not the locations. You can look up the authors in the index, but it's a pain if you're trying to follow a single one's career. Moreover, the number of writers included is so great that the information on each of them is limited to little more than where they inhabited during various points of their life. It would have been nice if the authors (of this book) could have gone into greater depth on a fewer number of literary figures.

Did not find this book particularly helpful :(. It is very dense, the images are dated, and it is organized by different streets and districts which is not conducive for browsing. There is an index of authors in the back but the index sometimes only gives a brief bio of the author and NO PAGE NUMBERS to tell you where you can find info about the author in the book. A big disappointment!
