Best applied math book I've read in a long time. A bit scattered in places, but I was literally blown away by Chapter 4! In 60 short pages, Tayler covers basically everything I'm currently working on: heat conduction, atmospheric pollutant dispersion, Stefan problems, mushy layers, nonlinear diffusion, Barenblatt's solution, and Darcy's law. It's a wild ride, but he really pulls it off.

Decent, but definitely outdated by today's foucaultean standards.
