The chapters are from different contributors and as is often the case, the book results in something quite heterogeneous, with chapters of very different quality. Topics and authors' scientific approaches are also quite different. I enjoyed and read twice some chapters while I found others not interesting at all. The chapter 3: Relationship experiences an emotional well-being by Harry Reis is very interesting; 'chapter 6: Why do others get under our skins as well. The other chapters were interesting but tend to present the authors' own findings rather than syntheses or state-of-the art. The kind of book that I should have borrowed from the library instead of ordering it.

Carol Ryff has even proposed to speak of Psychological Well-Being (PWB) as distinct from Subjective Well-Being (SWB). Capabilities and Happiness Pág.120
