Group Model Building is one of many system dynamics' books that I really wanted to read; basically, because it was recommended by my system dynamics' teacher. A very simple reason, yet I know he gave me much help to start learning system dynamics. Group Model Building elaborates on how to build a system dynamic model in a group. As for me myself, I found it quite difficult, because based on my experience in building a system dynamic model in a group, you'll find many opinions and many point of views. There were conflicts for sure and the most important thing is the knowledge level among group members. Group Model Building describing some basic system dynamics that needed to be known by the group member so that everybody will have the same perspective over it; and I have to admit, the knowledge of system dynamic really is crucial in this matter. This book is basically dedicated to those who wanted to collect ideas from their clients; you can say that this book is actually great to be used by the consultants. This book elaborates more about being a facilitator who has to get everybody's idea and put it together into one. Being a good facilitator gets quite big portion to be discussed in this book. Group Model Building also assist the readers on differing qualitative and quantitative models, how to build it together with the clients, validate it and do sensitive analysis. I love this book because I think this book is readable, and I meant easily (or is it because I already knew about system dynamic?). It contains some examples that can be followed easily too. I actually love this book very much, though not that much. So, I think I'm going to rate this book as 4 stars out of 5; which for me, 4 stars for a non-fiction book means great book.

Read this for my MBA management requirement. Interesting material...most of it I have figured out over the last ten years, although I didn't know the technical names for them. It did fill in several gaps for me related to how I can deal with people-problems in a professional setting.
