Review # 1 was written on 2020-11-13 00:00:00 Humberto Olmos Poses some (_some_) interesting questions. Provides a useful historical overview of the movement -- written with a major center to center-left slant, very critical of the "revolutionary" elements of liberation theology, but nonetheless finding the "prophetic" elements useful. Definitely not a hagiography of the movement. |
Review # 2 was written on 2007-11-26 00:00:00 Nariman Mon The author's skepticism of marxist-leaning liberation theologists is obvious from his explanation of issues and by his filtering of information. It was an interesting study, but I felt that the book was irreversibly damaged by the author's bias against some core aspects of the subject. |
