Review # 1 was written on 2011-11-12 00:00:00 Christin Scroggins I read this for a history class and while I would say it is on the dry side of history books I still enjoyed it. The book was fully of information and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some base line knowledge of Brazil

Review # 2 was written on 2014-04-20 00:00:00 Kyong Yoon I had to read this book for a graduate level course I took. While I love historical books, this one was beyond dry. It was a somewhat hard read just because I felt that I couldn't relate to the people that she speaks of in the book. However the informative quality of this book is outstanding. So if you are looking for information, this is a great resource, but not a book for pleasure reading.
