Review # 1 was written on 2017-10-11 00:00:00 Paul Nani This is basically the story of the tortoise and the hare, only with a brother and a sister. Illustrations were nice. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-09-14 00:00:00 Stephen Baines This book shows the power of perseverance. Stella, confident that she will beat Roy in the challenge, tells Roy that the last child to the Popcorn stand is a rotten egg. Along the way Stella stops to examine several different interesting things such as the frogs and the geese, Roy, however, continues to slowly peddle his way toward the goal. Throughout the book we are lead to believe that Stella will easily win the challenge, however, we are decieved, Roy becomes victorious. In the end, both children are able to happily share in the joy of eating popcorn together. This book shows that although there may be one goal, there are multiple ways to achieve the final produce. Both children were able to reach the popcorn stand and enjoy time together. |
