Review # 1 was written on 2011-07-26 00:00:00 Bjoern Muench This book is adorable. Something about the rhythm of the text with the illustrations and all the ways different means of transportation could be derailed, as it were, one by one... |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-07-04 00:00:00 Rex Carpenter A very insightful and brief book that I would recommend for even the non-bat mitzvah and non-Jewish faith readers. A great deal of the book talks about women through history, and even how a few women still managed to start the ripples of change in society. These are only a few though, and are those who are believed/known to be Jew themselves. Despite that, it is still a great way to delve into the history. For young girls, these women provide role models they can learn about. What wasn't about women's history was about the bat miztvah itself with multiple voices speaking of their experience. The author had included lady's who had theirs at various points in time since the first one. As well as some thoughts from her own daughter. It is interesting to read how each individual had their own touch to the celebration. |
