Review # 1 was written on 2019-05-01 00:00:00 Thomas Heyde A sweet story with an old-fashioned vibe. I would recommend this for people of all ages who enjoyed books like The Little Princess or The Secret Garden. The characters are brilliantly written, which will not surprise fans of this highly talented author. Reading this now as an adult was a joyful experience, but I can't help wishing I had discovered this book when I was a preteen � I'm sure I would've loved it even more!

Review # 2 was written on 2011-04-23 00:00:00 Steven Maizes Listen to the Nightingale and King of Shadows - my two favorite books when I was eleven. This one is buried near the bottom of my bookshelf, but a quick read of the book flap of Jepp, Who Defied the Stars, just the mention of the word "Infanta," motivated me to pull it out and reread it. And I still love it. And now I see that it's second in a series, something I'd never known. I must hunt up the first book.
