Quite a fascinating little tome on strength training. Why? 1) Old school, part 1. Women dont exist until about p. 130, and after that only two are mentioned by name. 2) Old school, part 2. Includes a very detailed and informative exploration of the technique of the split snatch, which is quite rarely seen in competition nowadays, and the (much) older rules of weightlifting. 3) Details. The authors seem to be aware of every lifting record in existence at the time, even down to such details as the number of sets and reps in training lifts by non-weightlifter athletes. 4) Bruce Jenner cleaned 270 lbs, long before he was not Bruce Jenner. Bonus: A weirdly noncommittal little passage appears at the very end of the book discussing steroids in general and methandrostenalone in particular. I am not quite sure what to make of it.
