Review # 1 was written on 2014-09-27 00:00:00 Michael Stewart This book was published at the beginning of 80s, when the world was still in the danger of a full scale nuclear war. Today it seems that danger has been diminished, but not eliminated. But the centerpiece of this book is to discuss the role of scientists, mathematicians and engineers in politics, and human society at large, through the lives of two of the most prominent mathematicians of last century. Such a discussion is still quite relevant in today's increasing technology-driven world. |
