Review # 1 was written on 2015-10-23 00:00:00 Dan Donoghue The Porsche 917 was an absolutely amazing vehicle that came to dominate World Endurance racing and the Canadian-American Challenge in the 1970s. This is its story, told in black-and-white photos from the era. It also includes some technical drawings of the engine and other components for the technically inclined (not me). Karl Ludvigsen writes a brief history of the car's development that hits the main highlights. But whoever wrote the photo captions was not always clear or detailed enough in his/her's explanations. Some great photos, though. Too bad there were no color plates.
