Review # 1 was written on 2018-01-16 00:00:00 Michael Clift For people with industry experience and basic understanding of finance The first half of the book focuses on the idiosyncratic aspects of the healthcare industry, and the book does a great job of clarifying much of the complexity associated with healthcare finance topics. The second half of the book dives into various topics in finance that are applicable to hospital management -- I recommend a fundamental understanding of finance before diving into these topics. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-09-28 00:00:00 Allen Martinez I read this for a college course, and I thought it was horribly organized and disjointed. The intro says it is written for people without a finance background, but I spent more time looking up the words and concepts in other books than I did reading this one. The author skipped around a LOT, going off on tangents and case studies that did not seem at all related to the rest of the chapter. I finally found Louis Gapenski's Understanding Healthcare Financial Management and it was far more informative. |
