Review # 1 was written on 2010-08-05 00:00:00 Dimitrios Tagis If you're interested in the historical development of the American West, this atlas is essential. It includes 78 different maps on a variety of topics -- everything from Spanish exploration to railroad construction to World War II Japanese Internment and prisoner-of-war camps. The B&W graphics are plain and simple, and there are no eye-catching color plates. Nevertheless, this is an incredibly useful and convenient reference work. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-12-02 00:00:00 Johannes Sre This book is just a little bit dry, but is also one step above a coffee table book. It contains text mixed with plenty of color photographs, drawings and maps. The photographs and maps spice up the text a bit, which would be pretty boring without them (due to the writing, rather than the subject matter). Still, a pretty interesting book. |
