Review # 1 was written on 2012-07-19 00:00:00 Leslie Torres Garrett thinks about the affordances of multi-plot form, but doesn't stray too far from textual dynamics. When he does speculate on symptomatic explanations, his explanations are really reductive. He thinks all appeals to other systems of explanation are reductive, but I disagree--I think he just does it badly. Really important to establishing that multi-plot novels were not just "badly done," but were themselves dialogical and formed for certain purposes. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-01-04 00:00:00 Roy Corson To be fair, this was more of a "skim until I come upon something I need to use for my paper." I did think it's a good introduction to the genre. |
