This is a textbook therefore it isn't suited for anyone trying to casually learn about mechanism in organic chemistry as it requires basic knowledge in stereochemistry and solid understanding of the IUPAC nomenclature. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone below undergraduate level in chemistry as well. This textbook is dense and contains a lot of information which is explained with a right amount of details and examples. To me, this book is essential for any chemist and I will continue using it throughout my chemistry degree. It also includes relevant diagrams (usually quite difficult to understand mechanism without them) and every chapter is ordered according to the type of molecules and the type of reactions. The whole part about linear free energy relationships (Hammett and Yukawa Tsuno equation) is super clear and helped me get a better grasp of this complex notion. Contrary to lots of other chemistry textbooks I've read in the past, this one is regularly updated so you don't lose time checking accuracy on every little detail.
