Review # 1 was written on 2014-12-22 00:00:00 Lorraine Fitzsimons This is is a great book for speedily traveling through the history of Western music. However, although this is an "outline," if you knew everything in this book, you'd know more than the average recipient of a bachelor's degree in music about music history. Review # 2 was written on 2018-12-11 00:00:00 Jose Villarreal Very dry if you are taking notes. Once you stop taking notes, it goes much faster. Not a book I would recommend for someone looking to get into the nitty gritty of music history, but definitely great for an intro/review of it. It's a great resource for future music educators looking to pass their state content tests.
