For someone without an art background, I found the review of the basics such as colorwheels, to be quite useful. When it comes to painting and decorating rooms, it's one thing to know what you like; knowing *why* you like it is a another thing entirely. The latter gives you the ability to try out new things, within the framework of your design aesthetic. I also really liked the discussion of how natural light and different types of lighting can have dramatic changes on how paint looks on the wall. The choose-your-own-adventure style of color mix and match was fun (interactive!), but I don't know how useful it was.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-11-30 00:00:00 Jenifer Henry Not crazy about the color combinations in this book. Check it out of the library to make sure it agrees with you before purchasing it. If you do like the color combos, the presentation in this book is very good.
