She is set on a mission to gather information about a certain countess, who, strangely enough, sort of disappears from the story when she was to be one of the main characters. Introducing childhood friend, Mr. Heath Bartlett, lawyer extraordinaire, but who seems rather wishy-washy in his feelings for Tess. He seemed a rather boring hero, in my opinion, and that, with the weak story line that left a lot of ends open, it wasn't the page turning adventure I like to see. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-06-27 00:00:00 Andrew Lindow I loved this book almost all the way through, but it had a very unsatisfactory ending. The writing is clever, sex scenes are steamy, love the leads, and the mystery is very good, with a couple of nice twists. However: ¡Spoiler! I hated that Tess gave up spying for Heath. "oh, I just realized that even though I've been talking about how much I love my job I will be super glad to give it up for a man so I can settle down and start making babies" BULLSHIT. |
