Review # 1 was written on 2009-02-18 00:00:00 David Macdonald Mariette Himes Gomez is one of my favorite designers. Her ability to make a room serene, beautiful and livable is a gift. I love to look at this book from time to time for inspirtation.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-09-01 00:00:00 Erik Rozendaal I thought I'd give Thom Filicia's book a good look through but I never thought we would agree on design philosophies. His book was informal and fun. Almost like a private class on design. He was realistic and actually gave the reader some really great advice on how to approach designing their home or personal space. Our houses should reflect the lives of those who live there, and his ability to express a person's style in an interior is truely inspiring. He has a great design background, having worked for Albert Hadley and you can definately feel he's rooted in really great design elements. But he has a wild side and likes to suprise people with materials and color. He's eclectic but chic, adventurous but has the capability to push the limits without losing focus on both the client and what makes good design. I plan to own this one!
