This book is pretty much a treasure in a land where music education is no longer a priority to primary schools. The table of contents is fabulous in that it lists the activity, supplies needed, previous knowledge required, and appropriate grade level for activities from rhythm echos to quiz games for learning about styles of music and their prominent composers. Since many of my high school students in band have very little experience reading music when they enroll, I have adapted many of the basic lesson plans for K-2 to 9-12 and they still work beautifully. Whenever I'm in a pinch for a group activity that is equally educational and engaging for my wide range of students, I grab this text for ideas. Even if you only have it for lesson plan inspiration, it is a superhero to have in your arsenal.

I have read through several of these books. I always enjoy learning, re-learning, about how my profession came about.
