Review # 1 was written on 2015-09-29 00:00:00 Robert Yeo I actually read the 4th Canadian edition so there are slight differences. However I found this book to be a wonderful overview of the practice of sociology. They made the reading quite easy with summaries at the end of each topic and summary questions at the end of the chapter. As well, there were insets describing certain incidences of those topics mentioned in the chapter, relating the material to a movie in order to review it with a sociological eye, and questions posed to the reader that allowed us to think over what our own view was. It also came with an access code for Nelson Brain, and the website featured online quizzes, video clips, and an online copy of the book. Great for beginners in sociology!

Review # 2 was written on 2013-07-21 00:00:00 Dmitry Ter-ovanesyan A really well written introduction to Sociology. I would recommend it just for the fact that, because it's a general survey of Sociology, it moves along quickly and only briefly touches on a wide variety of subjects. It doesn't bog down into any theoretical perspectives or exhaustive explanations of certain topics so it stays fresh and interesting throughout.
