An author's note admits that these may not be the most 'authentic' versions one could find, but they seem so to me. And they're engagingly and gracefully told. Mikolaycak's art is indeed marvelous; ty Michael for noting the resemblance of his work to that of Trina Schart Hyman. It's a little less detailed/ busy, though, and if you like it you'll probably like that of Peter Parnall, too.

Rabbit is out of his hutch and running off about the farm. But where will he go? Who will he see? Will he get away? Flip the flaps and see. This is a good book for young children. It will need to be read to children because of the size of the text and the wording. The flaps are simple and easy to use. The illustrations are not very child friendly as in the sense it is not bold and colourful like some other childrens' books.
