I spent quite a lot of time with this book and got pretty good at fixed do. It progresses nicely. However , at the end of the day I question its usefulness. I can't see how it's helped me to become a better musician. The crux of ear training to me is to be able to hear inside harmony. When one can hear a chord , no matter how complex, and sing the notes from lowest to top, then there's pretty much nothing one can't accomplish musically. This book doesn't address that in-depth.

The good thing about this book is that it's pretty comprehensive. Otherwise, it sucks. The grading of the sight singing exercises is beyond stupid; no sooner does it introduce a new rhythm pattern and interval than it has you combine them in the same damn exercise. That's just terrible pedagogy.
