Review # 1 was written on 2013-11-21 00:00:00 Debra Horton Zigby love adventures and trying new things but always seems to stumble upon troubles. He takes his friends with him on an adventure to go camping. They climb mountains, go through swamps, forests, and then finally find the darkest jungle. This story displays friendship in a number of ways, how friends go on adventures together even though they do not know what is in store. Also, that they stick by each other’s side when things go wrong. The illustrations were colorful and inviting and did a great job showing us what the text was telling us. One thing that was unique about this book was its use of different size text to emphasize words. An example of this was when there was something coming towards them and as it approach it got louder. Each time the word louder was used it was written in a bigger font on the page letting us know that is was getting closer and causing curiosity to see what it is. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-03-12 00:00:00 Mike Tolle Zigby and friends make use of a new tent. Some expected nervousness follows when they attempt to camp out in the woods. Illustrations reminiscent of Maisy, but with slightly more detail in the background. |
