Review # 1 was written on 2009-09-28 00:00:00 Moko Springer I love Asimov's short stories. They are excellent. I particularly enjoy his take on a future where computing power and miniaturization never joined forces; his Multivac fills kilometers of underground tunnels in a secure location. But the computer is never the point of the story; he's extremely adept at creating believable characters acting within the boundaries of a sparsely described yet immersive universe. This book is volume I of a planned 3 part series; years ago, I was able to buy part I and II but apparently part III was never published. I should add book II to GoodReads but for now I'll say that in book II there is a story titled "The Ugly Little Boy" that might very well make you cry. A sci-fi story made you cry, how about that. |

Read 4/8/2019 (3 stars) This story felt and read like it should have been part of both the Foundation series and the The Caves of Steel robot series. But ISFDB doesn't really mention either nor does Wikipedia. Intriguing. |
