Review # 1 was written on 2009-01-31 00:00:00 Kristin Currey It's a bit difficult to digest if you are not familiar with some of the theology involved. Otherwise the collection of essays and letters are very inspiring. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-24 00:00:00 Griselda Izmajtovich This book provides the right balance of depth and breadth, typical of the 'Making of Modern Theology' series. Because the texts are arranged chronologically, you have to get over the hurdle of Bonhoeffer's early, dense and dry writings before you get to the much more readable later works. The effort is worth it, and I now feel I know Bonhoeffer well enough to understand references to him by other theologians, and where to go when I want go deeper into his thinking. |
