Review # 1 was written on 2011-02-15 00:00:00 Rosanna Vigil The prayers in this very sensible volume of shortish reflections have always appealed to me and I find myself, once again, returning to this volume. Published by Ligouri, the prayers are grouped by time of day and include quotations, poetry, scripture citations and touches of humor (which may be why it resonates with me.) Consider this excerpt: "With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all, but thou knowest, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end." These reflections take me a step aside from the beloved traditional daily prayers while still keeping me focused on my Lord and my God.
