Review # 1 was written on 2018-03-17 00:00:00 Christopher Sapaula Review - I think that this book is interesting as it covers all of the key aspects of English history up to England's relationship with the EU after World War 2. The images are all very interesting as they're not dumbed down into cartoons, but are real historical sources. It is clear and easy to read, but I do in some ways wish that there was more detail. However, I understand that this was not really the point - it was supposed to be an overview to get you interested and encourage you to read further once you finish this book. I have to say that this has succeeded for me. General Subject/s? - History / Tudors / Stuarts / Plantagenets / Medieval / Victorians / Edwardians Recommend? – Yes Rating - 16/20 |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-17 00:00:00 Iris Levy After reading this book, I am uncertain as to why the public school system would invest so heavily in dry, poorly written texts. This is a fascinating and well written account of England's history that was difficult to put down. |
