As with all books like this, it's reflective of the situation of the person who wrote it - clearly the reader she has in mind is someone moving their family (mother, father, teenager) to Munich for work. The assumption is that the reader will be pretty well off, financially, which of course is NOT our situation right now... Having said that, there is some GREAT information in this book, including the location of movie theaters where English-language movies are played, descriptions of holidays and festivals, sizeable sections on how to entertain your children and volunteer opportunities, and a good guide to buying a home there (not quite as helpful for renting, but there's still some good info).

This book reminded me of that one friend that everyone has that they are obligated to follow on Instagram but don't really want to because that friend posts super annoying photos that are supposed to be "artsy" but end up being cringe worthy because no one wants to say that the pictures are lame and that the friend should get a hobby outside of photography.
