Review # 1 was written on 2016-02-02 00:00:00 Noor hisham Sulaiman I have always loved the cartoon cat, Garfield! In fact, when I was teaching, my entire classroom was decorated with Garfield posters, animals, mugs, etc. The students really enjoyed reading each of the books for the different holidays as well! Things are not going well for me right now so I thought I might cheer myself up by reading all of these funny books and commiserating with my favorite large orange fat cat! No, not fat - "pleasingly plump" like me! Jim Davis, if you are reading this, thanks so much for all the joy you have given me for over thirty years! When I review a Garfield book, I like to copy the one I really liked; one that made me pause and reflect or simply laugh out loud. Here is the one for this edition. Garfield is preparing to push poor Odie off the kitchen table when he suddenly gets "an attack of the nice!" He thinks about it for a minute and then blows Odie off the table. Then he states, "With self-control you can conquer anything." Classic Garfield. I love him!

Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-17 00:00:00 Laprade Sebastien Some comic strips have aged well. I've been following the daily Calvin and Hobbes on Facebook, and it still makes me smile, chuckle, or even laugh out loud. Same with The Far Side, which never ceases to amuse me. I have fond memories of Garfield, Odie, Nermal, and all the rest, but in rereading some of the old collection, it just doesn't stand the test of time. They're still mildly amusing, but more in a nostalgic way.
