Review # 2 was written on 2017-01-05 00:00:00 dino gomez Beautiful pictures, and a compelling way into the story of indigo. I learned a lot from this. The author sometimes writes as if she's telling a story everyone already knows-- a habit of scholarly writing, perhaps, that works less well when speaking to an audience like me that is ready to learn about textile history, but knew very little indeed when I picked the book up. But with my scholarly hat on, I also found it frustrating that the book seemed to offer few pointers about where I might follow up on the topics that interested me. So, a good read, but not the last word, I hope, on the subject.
