This might be one of the best books I have ever read. It contains many important information and statistics on the war on drugs and many accomplishments that the government has had in recent years such as the increased percentage of drugs recovered at the border. Besides this, it gives educated estimations on the amount of drugs currently in the United States. Many states are used as examples. It is a book that also goes over other drug problems overseas such as in Europe and China. It gives many information on steps taken by other governments in order to stop illegal drug use and how these have either failed or succeed. Some of these examples are used as references and arguments on why the United States shouldn't use these same tactics. Numbers and statistics of people seeking treatment is more important info that this book reveals. Furthermore, it gives arguments against what regular people say such as that "The United States is loosing the war on drugs" and he backs them up with credible information. Other information such as the pros and cons of marijuana legalization are displayed. This book basically persuades you the whole time based on facts that are important to know in order to understand this war. It is a great book since it gives all sorts of different perspectives from different authors and people interested in this topic. Opinions of concerned citizens and experts are also introduced. Some important speeches that have been given over this topic are included in here as well and then fully described. After all, this book is very well written and was well thought of. I found very incredible the amount of research that had to be done in order to put it together. It should be a very helpful source for anyone trying to know more about this war, its history, what the future will bring and also what the situation actually looks like today in age.

The fact that Niccola Gavey instructs her students in theory from this book which apologizes for rape is nothing short of a scandal. She describes heterosexual males as being 'unrapeable' by females. She bemoans that concern for male rape victims as a 'newsworthy distraction' at worst, rather than a legitimate concern. An algebraic formula is even established by Gavey, where by if 'x' happens to a woman it is rape but if 'x' happens to a man it is NOT. What 'x' amounts to is left deliberately vague, but the point to be taken is that Gavey does not consider the assault of male victims in any circumstance concerning, and even appears jealous of the sympathy a male victim might receive. How is this person to be taken seriously as an authority on the subject of gender politics or sexual assault?
