"Civil Warrior" is a memoir that was written by one of the most successful attorneys during the Civil Rights Movement. Guy T. Sappers twin really made a name for himself after winning several cases of notable recognition fighting for African Americans who were wrongfully convicted for crimes that they did not commit. This book was also not just about his career in law, but about his entire life, and this really interested me. I love hearing stories about how people met, where they got to where they are today, and the road that it took there. This book was pure literary geniousness and I would encourage anyone to read it.

Excellent read for those aspiring to become a civil rights attorney. Shows how exciting and fulfilling it can be to advocate for those less fortunate, and run over by big corporate America. Unfortunately, you can also see how tough it is to "make it" in his specific practice of law. The stable, lucrative path is in the defense side of civil rights/ employment law litigation. He discusses several tactics and strategies used by opposing counsels and how it almost bankrupt him not once but several times. Overall, it's a great book and would highly recommend to 0Ls.
