With all of the information on the internet, it can be hard to filter through how to care for antiques. This book is an incredible resource with detailed pictures on things like restoring or replacing cracked veneer, and cleaning ancient ceramics. A fabulous must-own book for any collector.

This is an amazing resource written to guide even amateurs on how to care for and/or repair everyday things as well as collectibles or antiques, with warnings on when to hire a professional. Tools and supplies for each class of repair are detailed and accompanied by a photo. The steps are enough for me to start from, and as a rank amateur they give me a basis for knowing what further help to seek. I had no idea that you could mend ceramics with expoxy putty and finish with cold-curing glazing! Helpful advice on cleaning jewelry stones, silver, metal, and more. How to repair old gilt frames even with some intricate profiles. Chapters include: furniture , upholstery, leather, textiles, rugs & carpets, ceramics, metal, jewelry, stoneware, art & print, dolls, bears & toys, and plastic. How to repair stemware with a chipped rim! This book is well worth owning if you are interested in care & repair! I just bought a copy!
