Review # 1 was written on 2019-01-28 00:00:00 Zully Tapia A life well lived that gives to others even after death is embodied in Hollis Sigler's journal. Her images are raw, deeply felt, and painfully undisguised. Will she know how she has touched others? The paintings evoke other women artists whom I admire: Varo, Carrington and Kahlo. Their struggles echo through the decades and through the hearts of women. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-01-30 00:00:00 Bart Dhont This is another pop art book with commentary by Michael J. Nelson. This one is about romance and love- sort of. The commentary as is typical is not always super-funny, but it's good enough to be entertaining and a relaxing read. Note: This is not for young readers. There are some pictures that are not appropriate for younger readers (in a teacher/mom opinion). |
