Review # 1 was written on 2017-06-13 00:00:00 Rakesh Kris I have been reading ancient Greek plays. So a GR friend suggested a Greek history. One other the one I have selected. I selected poorly. Friend undoubtedly chose better. Tedious. Not enlightening. Trying of patience and endurance. Now I have put on my tbr list The Histories along with The History Atlas of Europe. I have just bought these books today, so now it will be a matter of finding time.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-31 00:00:00 Jennifer Perry Except for the final chapter, Smith focuses on political and military history. A better acquaintance with Greek people and places before starting this book would have made its reading more valuable.
