Review # 1 was written on 2021-02-18 00:00:00 Joshua Ohman I read this book with the interest of gaining information on medieval Eastern Europe, a region often neglected. The author, however, spends most of the book talking about Byzantium and the more interesting portions regarding Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria are relegated to a few short paragraphs towards the end of the volume. This book is more suited to those with an interest in Byzantine history. I give the book two stars for the fabulous plates by Angus McBride
