Soon to have a second edition, this is the best text on parent-child relations available today, incorporating such things as Kangaroo Care for infants, and Four Pluses and a Wish for working with children.

This is how I think this book came into being: Larry's friend: I bet you $20 that you couldn't write a book on parenting where you use the phrase 'secret language' in EVERY sentance! Larry: Bet accepted! Larry's friend: AND you have to get your ugly mug on the cover of the book! Larry: Bet accepted! And this book was born. For full disclosure, I did not get out of the first chapter of the book. The phrase 'secret language' was in about every other sentance. WE GET IT! You believe that there is a secret language out there that people can communicate with. Earth to Larry Shapiro: no duh. People, and children, use things other than speech to communicate. SHOCKER! And could this book be written at any lower intelligence level? I feel like I lost 10 IQ points just reading the first chapter.
