Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-07 00:00:00 Jeremy Cook There is nothing in this book you couldn't find on-line. While most of the information is interesing, and while the book is organized and succinct, I primarily found it all to be common sense...and it wasn't particularly helpful. In fact, much of the information seemed outdated. For example, it mentions having an extra roll of film for your camera to capture all your puppy's antics. Does anyone use film anymore? I did enjoy learning more about the history of the breed, and seeing a picture of Barry, the infamous Saint Bernard who rescued over 40 people. Mostly, though, I found it a little boring. I'm a novice Saint owner, but even I already knew most of what was discussed in this book. Overall...I'd recommend finding reputable on-line sources and using your puppy's breeder as a valuable source of expert information. Both would be superior to this this very generalized book. 2.5 stars |
